Our Curriculum Intent – What do we want children to learn? Our curriculum is everything we want our children to learn, experience and become during their time with us.  It is rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and informed by Development Matters and staff knowledge We aim to support every child to become an ACE Learner

Active Learners Children develop curiosity, independence and a love of exploring the world around them Confident Communicators Children develop their language, listening and communication skills, building positive relationships with others. Emotionally Secure Children feel safe, valued and supported, developing confidence, resilience and the ability to understand and express their emotions. We prioritise the prime areas of learning – Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Communication & Language, Physical Development as the foundation for future learning and success.  Strong relationships, language development and physical wellbeing underpin children’s progress across all areas of learning. Curriculum Implementation – How do we teach? Children learn through a balance of play, meaningful experiences and high-quality interactions with caring knowledgeable practitioners. We provide a balance of child-initiated play and thoughtfully planned experiences, following children’s interests, needs and real-world experiences. Practitioners observe children carefully, drawing on their knowledge of each child and using Development Matters to support assessment and identify appropriate next steps. Our learning environment encourages children to explore, investigate, make choices, develop independence and build positive relationships. Through everyday routines, conversations, stories, songs and play, we support children to develop skills progressively across all seven areas of learning.
